Slice of Life- 25/31- No Matter What Your Perspective…

Filling the bins, no errors allowed
Counting, recounting, rearranging, reassigning
Training all teachers, worrying about the newbies
Heading up the most dreaded part of our profession

Taught and retaught and retaught again
Analyzed data to laser focus on “the bleed”
Decided where we could “move the needle”
DI’d and formatively assessed
Coddled and cheered, encouraged and lifted up
Finished…for now

Teachers still here as I make my rounds
Prep packets lie crumpled in my path
Leftovers from “Keep up the good work” treats neglected in the lounge
Doors locked, different than before, housing precious documents

WHAT IF I FAIL!
WHEN IS TUTORING!
DO THE HARDEST PART FIRST!
GET PLENTY OF SLEEP! EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST!
I got this.

  1. How do students in other countries get through 12 years of schooling with so little testing? Could America ever learn from others without making a perpetual mistake?
